Nicole Knows: Drink Up Ladies!

When it comes to a specialty cocktail, you want to pick something that represents you and your significant other, and matches the season you choose to plan your big day. In other words, you would not choose a spiked hot chocolate for a summer wedding, or you wouldn’t pick a slushy drink for a winter ball! Here are some of my favorite springtime cocktails you could consider for your spring event!

Blueberry Basil Lemonade

- Blueberry vodka

- Lemonade

- Fresh basil (or mint)

The Dirty Shirley (this is a classic)

- Sprite, 7Up, or Sierra Mist

- Vodka

- Grenadine

Elderflower Spritz

- Gin or Prosecco

- Elderflower liqueur

- Fresh lemon or lime juice

Elderberry Delight

- Elderberry vodka

- Gooseberry Vodka

- Lemonade or Tonic Water

Watermelon Margarita

- Fresh Watermelon (or fruit of your choice) juice

- Lime juice

- Tequila

- Chili Salt on the rim (optional)

What about the non-alcoholic fans? If you wanted to do a blueberry flavored lemonade or regular lemonade, this could easily be a quick transition to a mock tail for any guests who do not drink alcohol. Same with the Dirty Shirley, just take out the vodka and you have a basic Shirley Temple mocktail! Mocktails are very popular nowadays, so having a signature drink option that can easily transition from alcoholic to non alcoholic can be very accommodating for your guests. Also, adding any edible flower ice cubes is extra fun and an aesthetically pleasing twist too, for both alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages!
